Grown to contract, kept for the client

Plants grown to order for a named client, ring-fenced from every channel until they’re dispatched.

Contract C-114 · 600 committed

Ring-fenced at ready

Off the availability list, the embed and the till. Only a dispatch to the client moves it.

Held for the client · due wk 40

“Grown for them. Sold to nobody else.”

Each contract carries the client, a reference, a due date and the plants committed, and the batches grown for it are attached from the day they’re started. Progress is worked out live from those batches — growing, ready and dispatched against what was committed — and once they’re ready the plants are held back, so no list, till, hold or order can sell them to anyone else.

On your nursery

A landscaper commits to 600 of the 3-litre Viburnum tinus for a scheme next autumn. The batches stuck for it carry the contract, stay off the availability list once they’re ready, and go out in three loads — the rest still held for the client between them.

What’s behind it

Three things doing the work.

  • 01Contracts for named clients, each with a reference, a due date and the plants committed
  • 02Progress worked out live from the batches: growing, ready, dispatched
  • 03Ring-fenced stock that leaves only by dispatch, in one load or several
The alternative

What you’d be doing instead.

  • vs a spreadsheetIt does the maths and never goes stale.Availability, cost and stock update themselves — and won’t promise the same plant twice.
  • vs generic e-commerceIt speaks horticulture.Maturity gates, batches, passports, grades, stems and bunches — not a plant bolted onto a T-shirt shop.
  • vs five separate toolsOne stock record behind the lot.Your website, accounts and card reader, connected to one stock record that actually talks to itself.
